Nicely grilled satayPineapple in satay sauceDragon dance liven up the environment today
Their BBQ prawns are really very tasty. I have tried a few stalls and this is still the best among all .. must try
I ordered 5 pieces each of mutton and chicken. Each bottle costs 90 cents, and orders start from 10 bottles. Not only the chicken but also the mutton was surprisingly odorless, soft and delicious! The sauce was a little different from the Indonesian peanut sauce, but it was a little fruity and not too spicy, so it was good.
Very tasty satay. Meaty for each satay. Boss is very friendly. Offer to give more penanut sause. Excellent service
The chicken satay is tender and delicious. The peanut sauce with pineapple puree is very yummy. It's not easy to find peanut sauce with pineapple these days. Glad that they are still selling satay!
Long time patron of this stall. We are sad they stopped selling popiah due to manpower shortage issues but we still continue to buy their satay!
Only satay, no more popiah. My favourite satay stall at Newton Hawker Centre. The mutton and chicken satay were tender and moist, and were nicely grilled. I don’t usually fancy peanut sauce, but the sauce at this stall was so delectable that I finished the entire bowl of sauce. Sauce was tasty with visible peanut bits in it. It was not oily and had a very strong peanut fragrance. The ketupat was served in the traditional weaved leaf casing and not plastic wrappers. Service was friendly.
Found the popiah and the satay (chicken and mutton) to be average, though the popiah was better than the satay. The satay was $7 for 10 sticks, and the popiah was $4.60 for 2 rolls.
Tasty popiah with crispy bits. Had to take off 1 star as there is a 2 popiah minimum requirement per order. Both rolls served were quite thin and for the price, it does not leave one feeling satisfied.
Was looking for an afternoon snack and decided to try this popiah store at Newton Hawker Centre. Good fast service but agree with other reviewers at $4.40 for 2 rolls, nothing special and pretty average. Could do with a bit more tastier ingredients and savoury sauce. Location is convenient and will likely try again if they could boost/improve the Taste a bit more! #hawkerheroes2020.
