Pleasantly surprised by this hokkien mee. Flavourful and full of wok hey and very decently sized portion!
Walked past & gave a try - pleasantly surprised! Abundant wok hei flavour and good moderated amounted of wetness. Chili spicy! Prawn quite fresh. Will visit again if nearby ^_^ friendly & nice people tending the stall too!
Normally food standards from Newton is for tourists and most locals won't go, but this is an exception. It tastes like the one from whampoa and surprisingly, a bigger portion. Chilli is good too not the sweet kinda sambal.
I ordered a $9 portion, but it came with three small miserable prawns and tiny pieces of sotongs.I can taste a slight wok hei flavour, but it could be better with more ingredients.
Delicious flavourful fried hokkien mee. There's a queue at times.. keep up the great job!!More chilli will be nice!!
Very good hokkien mee which i discovered recently.Good wo hei and taste is 👍👍👍Huge fan of Hkk Mee so i always drop by when i'n free
the char kway teow is not nice at all. most important is too pricey for a 6 dollars for a lousy CKT.
Bought small hokkien Mee for $6.It is kind of over price but at least it is good. I like the think white noodle but it is wet! However the mee soaked up the broth rather quickly and it became just soggy. Not a great texture but still surprisingly tasty.Prawn was reasonably sized and easy to eat. Pork lard got soggy rather quickly so you might not wanna mix them. The best if it is probably the chili. At first I was thinking too little chili I should have asked for more. But this chili was really spicy nice kick to it.
If you are at Newton food Centre and yearning for fried Hokkien mee, this one is not to be missed. The wok hei is good, and cooked till the broth is soaked into the noodles to give it that satisfying flavour. Taste wise, it is quite on par with a few other more famous ones, and I would say it will not disappoint at all if you crave for a good plate of fried Hokkien noodle. The chilli though spicy is a perfect complement to the dish. I saw that the Newton Food Centre will be closed from 1 Nov 2022 to 31 Jan 2023. So if you hope to catch them, you know what to do.
Was hungry for lunch and craved noodles! They are at newton hawker centre, facing the main courtyard. I like the way it was fried as it’s not too wet and the Hokkien mee and bee Hoon blends well. Wok hey was evident and loved it. Chilli was a highlight and would come back. Friendly service and can get very busy during evenings!
