[Feb 2024] Really good fishballs. Can clearly taste the difference compared with many other "standard" fishball kway teow stalls. The fishballs are big and soft (not your typical bouncy fishballs) - a sign that no extra ingredients were added to change the texture. You can taste the fish. The "her keow" (fish dumpling) had a generous serving of meat inside, and a bit of salted fish added for a bit more tastiness. Had the $7 dry mee pok (flat noodles). The chili-vinegar sauce was aromatic and flavourful. The vinegar is clearly present, so if you don't like it that way, remember to tell them to not add or just add a little.Prices start at $6. Good value for money given the generous servings of fishball and her keow.Friendly senior uncles manning the stall. Newton Hawker Centre always has a great ambience - lots of foodies, lots of buzz, as everyone is so into the food there.

There is no filling in the fish balls, just like the flavor in the market in my childhood.

This stall is located at the popular Newton food centre. Rather unassuming, but super delectable! The noodles were perfectly cooked and eaten together with the chilli sauce and vinegar, yumz! The highlight would be 'her keow' (dumplings). The fillings were full and tasted a tinge of salted fish in there.Large bowl of noodles and a bowl of dumplings soup for $13. It's worth every dollar spent.

The fishballs are really among the best. Due to their humongous size, I could savour the freshness, sweetness and softness of the fish with every bite. The soup was tasty while the noodles were well cooked but too spicy for me. Both contained a generous amount of condiments such as spring onion and fried shallots. The fish dumplings were disappointing though-with so little meat, which detached easily from the skin. There were no fish cakes. It was a little too expensive. Five fishballs and two dumplings cost $7. The prices were not particularly transparent. Also cash only. Not a fan of using disposable cutleries even for dine-in.

Fishball is huge and can really feel that it's handmade and made of good portion of fish. Not the cheapest fishball noodle out there but the quality justifies the price. Had the bee hoon soup which is already good but I saw that the dry version is good too which I want to try next time. There was queue but not too long and serving is quite fast on weekday dinner time

I have to agree wholeheartedly with many reviews that the fishball here is the best. You can tell right away that the fishballs are handmade - they are of slightly different sizes, and when you bite into it, you can see bits of fish meat. The fishballs here are bigger than normal, and yet light and bouncy, and has that freshness and sweetness in every bite. The mee pok and chilli is probably the best I have eaten. My preference is not to have vinegar, so I asked for that when I ordered. Besides the fish balls, there is also slimy fish dumpling which is also handmade and it is unlike any others.I read they moved here in 1977 (Newton Food Centre was opened in 1971) from where started at Orchard Carpark in 1966.Being a fishball noodle lover, this has to be my best discovery. It is even more amazing that the standard and quality is there despite operating for decades. I will be back here many times more, and hope they will continue for many years to come.

Bought fishball noodle mee at $5.50. Everything is $5.50 beside fish dumping which is $6.Waited for 10min because I was early. I find it average at best initially but I grew to like it. Meepok was Q and the same goes for the big and bouncy fish balls. It goes very well with the chili padi infused soya sauce. The kick is strong. The fish dumpling filling was also pretty generous on top of the 5 large fish balls.Soup was on the saltier side but it was surprisingly greenish yellow. It was soya soup, probably no msg or little? I don't feel thirsty! Honestly I think I would prefer dry one as the pork lard was pretty soggy. Doesn't have to be but it was.
