Uncle and auntie are both very nice 😊 Pleasant experience to buy from them. But satay was too tough and dry and skinny 🙁 And chicken wing was overly flavoured i cant taste the wings anymore, felt like eating bak kwa……..
Satay restaurant that received a Michelin Guide awardTry it and it's inexpensive.Delicious, a little different from satay in Thailand.Similar sauces But the taste will be milder.Beef Satay Fragrant smell of spices The texture is very soft.
Nice charcoal grilled satay and chicken wings, aunty has mastered the skill of grilling. The meat is tender yet flavourfulA littlw bit pricey for hawker standard, but its worth the money. Can do better with more condiment options
Love the chicken wings. Crispy and well marinated.Satay was okay. Decent, tasty, but not mind-blowing.
Best for its grilled chicken wings. Well grilled, with the meat inside moist and juicy. Satay was good, but not a standout item. Many decent satay stalls around. The peanut sauce was better than others I've tried though. Just nice. Not too much oil, and the peanut bits were a good size for me - I prefer bits that are too coarse.
This place was worth the wait. Lots of people in line. Got up to 40min.Definitely see why it's highly rated.Simple menu but the flavors popped. The satay was delicious. Charred on the outside but soft on the inside. The peanut sauce was out of this world. Cheap and soul-filling. Definitely a must-try at Newton.
The newly renovated Newton Food Centre just opened its doors in February and boy was it super crowded when I visited on a rainy Friday evening.Tried the well know roasted chicken wings from R&B Express which has a michelin sign on its storefront and recommended by many articles. Funny story, I actually went there to buy satay (which was below average by the way) but while waiting for my turn I saw the person plating up a serving of wings and the wings looked so big and juicy! So I got some to try and I can totally understand why it’s highly raved. It was indeed one of the better grilled chicken wings I’ve ever eaten. It’s juicy, tender and had just a little bit of char on its skin for that little oomph. Dip a bit of chilli and you’ve got yourself a mean little snack.Do follow me on Instagram @littlemissramensg for more food reviews!
A decent place to eat, fairly well organised and affordable but none of us got what all the fuss about that Michelin Star sign was all about. The satay is tasty but indistinguishable from any other in Singapore so we might as well have queued at one of the many other stores at this Hawker Centre.
Michelin starred! At newton hawker centre. Happy to try it out and share the experience of both the satay and wings. Both are well prepared and the wings were moist, to dip into the chilli sauce which helped provide the spicy taste. Worth a try and w a beer to wash it down.
